Not many people consider that your health can be affected by your everyday activities. All of the things we have to do each day can make a huge difference in how we feel and what happens to us. When we are not in a good relationship, have a job we hate, or keep friends who are bad for us; we take away from our own health. Giving too much and living in too much stress can really cause adverse reactions in one's physical and emotional well-being. When you are doing things that can make it hard to be happy, you can compromise your health in more ways than you can imagine. There are several things we can do to make sure we better our environment to improve our health.
The Working Environment
The work place can be awfully brutal to ones health for many reasons. It can be hard to juggle long hours with a family or social time. This can leave you sleep deprived or lonely. Either way this can impact your health in both emotional and physical ways. Not enough sleep can cause your immune system to falter and you will get sick. Once better you spend your newfound energy catching up at work to do it again. Not enough time to spend with loved ones can lead to depression or anger. These can cause you to become anxious or hypersensitive. Another reason your health can be affected by your job is if you work in a hostile environment. This can make you scared to come to work, not get along with your co-workers, or worse, make you miss work. If something is wrong in your work life, you need to address it to make it better.
Personal Relationships
Our relationship with others directly affects our health in many ways. When we are getting along with others well we feel good. This good feeling aids us in staying health emotionally. When relationships are strained or unhealthy, health concerns then can arise. When one spends too much energy taking care of others or dealing with others energy, they can become weak and vulnerable. This can lead to stress and illness. If relationships become more stress than fun, it is time to get rid of them to better you. While everyone needs friends, not at the expense of one's own health. Make sure that each of your relationships is healthy and gives back as much as you give.
Finding Balance In Life Activities
When it comes to your life and health, you need to find a balance in the things you need to do verses the things you have to do. When you spend too much time in one area in life many ailments can arise. Some people wear themselves too thin and end up sick from exhaustion. Some people have too much fun and end up too tired to function and get infections and viruses. You also have a class of people who work so hard they end up with high blood pressure and ulcers. The key to staying healthy, both emotionally and physically, is to find the balance between work and play. This will allow you to feel the release from a hard days work, without spreading yourself too thin or too much.
